Waterless Detailers - About Us - FAQ
Below are the most Frequently Asked Questions and their answers. If you have any others please feel free to contact your local Franchisee or call Head Office.
-----------------------------------------------
How is it possible to apply your products over a dirty surface?
Our product for cleaning without water contains over sixty different ingredients.

Among these ingredients are wetting agents, lubricants and sealing compounds which have never before used by the vehicle polish industry. Without these lubricants our product could not be applied to a dusty or dirty surface without leaving scratches.

The easiest method of explaining the process is to imagine a number of chemicals reacting as they are sprayed onto the vehicle surface. All the old wax, dirt and grime softens and encapsulates into a jelly. This reaction causes a chain reaction and more chemicals work their magic and place another layer of jelly over the last one, thus creating a double jelly bean affect.

In addition we ONLY use terry towels which will not cause any scratches.

Other chemical compounds contained in our product place UV protection onto the surface, fill in fine feather scratches, add a microscopic layer of polymer protection.
You have already mentioned how durable your product is for protecting my paintwork, but how often should I have my vehicle revaleted in order to keep it looking really good?
There are an awful lot of variables here, the age of the car, the condition and colour of the paint, whether or not the car is garaged, climate and road conditions, frequency of washing it etc. At the minimum we would recommend valeting every 6 months to prevent any colour loss. However to keep it looking really sharp and to create an incredible sense of depth and brilliance, and produce a finish that feels more like porcelain than paint, we would advise a monthly visit.
Will our product remove water spots ?
Yes, but only if the paint is relatively new, has been already treated, or the spotting has not set too deeply. Even then, it may require the use of a high speed buffer.
Are there any problems with applying our product over ordinary waxes and polishes?
None at all - our product range will easily cut through any wax or polish, leaving behind a bonded layer of shiny protection.
Is our product safe on clear coats ?
Totally - our products have been laboratory tested on every type of paint used by the industry from the older acrylic-gloss lacquers right through to today's high strength, high-gloss acrylic urethane and polyurethane paints. Some of our test vehicles have been hand and machine polished as many as 300 times (over a span of three and a half years) with absolutely no paint loss or deterioration whatsoever. Our product if applied in accordance with label directions, is SAFE FOR ALL HARD NON-POUROUS SURFACES.
How soon can The Waterless Detailers valet a vehicle once it has been re-sprayed ?
Both the paint industry and the automobile industry generally endorse a "90 day policy"
in regard to newly painted and newly repaired vehicles. During this period thinning solvents evaporate from the paint, allowing the paint to harden, or cure. Our own experience has shown that 90 days is unnecessarily long, due to major advancement in paint technology, the hardeners used, etc. At present, however we reluctantly continue to sanction the industry's 90 day rule of thumb.
Are there any other used for our Product range ?
Our product has numerous uses other than a vehicle cleaner, polish and sealant. It cleans a wide range of items from household tiles and work surfaces to polishing your silver and jewellery. It can therefore replace having a multitude of different cleaners for your home.
Will your product range work on boats and fibreglass?
Yes! You will find that with each application of our product, it will be easier to maintain the surface, including water spots.
Should anything other than terry towelling be used to apply your products ?
No others are recommended
Does your Product contain any Silicones or Teflons ?
No none at all.
